About me
I am a Ph.D. student in German at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and I will be graduating this summer.
My dissertation is on Henry Harbaugh's Pennsylvania Dutch dialect poetry with a focus on the aspect of Heimat.
I have a great passion for teaching, especially FLT and ESL. In Germany I completed my First- and Second State Examination for teaching at secondary schools in English, German, Geography, and History at the University of Education in Freiburg. I then attended the University of Alabama, where I received my M.A. in German Studies before joining the German program at UW-Madison.
Another research interest of mine is Intercultural Communicative Competence, and how working with stereotypes can help improve learners critical cultural awareness.
