About me
I began my professional life earning licensure as a French and History/Social Sciences teacher in Ontario, Canada (at Queen's University at Kingston) before heading to graduate school to become a professor of Germanic Linguistics. My research is two-pronged reflecting my intertwined interests in linguistics and pedagogy: I conduct research in historical and theoretical linguistics (especially pertaining to the Germanic languages) as well as pronunciation (phonetics) while also continuing working on pedagogical applications, especially in developing language proficiency and using prosody (stress placement) to help students develop second language grammatical knowledge, e.g., German plural production.
